Measuring energy poverty to ensure a socially fair green transition | EU Regions Week

As a part of the European Week of Regions and Cities online programme, Climate Alliance has pleasure of organising a session on measuring energy poverty. The session will bring together representatives from the European Anti-Poverty Network, The EU’s Joint Research Centre, the Covenant of Mayors, in order to discuss the importance of impact assessment and data collection inteh field. The Energy Poverty Advisory Hub approach will be described as well as a new set of indicators for local government, providing an overview of the data and indicators currently available in the EU. The dimension of social justice in the characterisation of energy poverty across the EU will also be explored with speakers highlighting the challenges of quantifying energy poverty and social justice towards a green transition.

The European Week of Regions and Cities is the largest annual, Brussels-based event dedicated to cohesion policy. This 20th edition, which runs from 10 to 13 October, will provide the opportunity to delve into four themes – green transition, territorial cohesion, digital transition and youth empowerment – in sessions both online and onsite.
