11th Climate Star competition

Shining a light on local success stories

Showcasing positive stories, bringing examples of success to the fore, honouring municipal ambitions – that's what our Climate Star competition is all about. In 2024, for the eleventh time, we are looking for innovative and sustainable best practices in local climate action and climate adaptation.

The Climate Star competition recognises the impressive and creative solutions of Climate Alliance members from across Europe. By taking part, you have the chance to put your city or town in the spotlight and present your projects at European level.

Why should you apply?

  • Recognition & impact. Showcase your project at the national and European level with the Climate Star to boost visibility for your region, city or town!
  • Knowledge transfer & networking. Take advantage of the competition to share your experiences with like-minded people and learn from the best practices of other cities and towns!
  • Motivation & commitment. Climate Star success stories inspire and drive people to act for the climate!

Take part and submit your successful project!

We are accepting applications from 26 August to 31 October. The winners of the 11th edition of the Climate Star competition will be honoured at a gala ceremony in the City of Wiener Neustadt (AT) in May 2025; their inspiring examples will be showcased online, via dedicated project videos as well as in a brochure detailing all Climate Star winners.

The Climate Star competition and the awards ceremony are jointly organised by Climate Alliance Lower Austria and Climate Alliance Europe with the support of the Province of Lower Austria.

Let's demonstrate the power of municipal climate action. We’re excited to recieve your application!
