CAIC24 | Climate Alliance International Conference

9 – 11 October 2024 | Cascais (PT)

How can we shape liveable cities for the future? How can we ensure social justice and a good life for all? How can municipalities make use of what nature teaches us? Resilience is the key! We need to adapt to our changing environment and work towards robust regions, cities and towns if we want to secure a better future for all. In the process, we must understand resilience as a cross-cutting goal – as much about the ability to adapt to the environmental effects of the climate crisis as to the accompanying social, economic and political upheaval.

The 2024 Climate Alliance International Conference focused on what regions, cities and towns can do to boost resilience locally. This included nature-based solutions, the fight against energy poverty, the use of data for sustainable municipal planning and more. Together with municipalities from across Europe, we wanted to develop a vision for our cities and towns. Participants immersed themselves in interactive workshops, presented their own experiences and success stories and exchanged ideas with colleagues and other local climate action stakeholders.

The 2024 Climate Alliance International Conference was being organised by Climate Alliance member Cascais (PT) and Climate Alliance Europe.

A review of the conference as well as relevant materials and impressions will be available here shortly.
